Still high

River is still high although has nicely cleared. Grayling stay around the places where have spawned, trout seem to sleep.

Weather is ugly, river still high and cold. Grayling starts getting in big number around usual spawning places, however the spawning itself hasn’t started yet. Trout still not very active, but some of them attempt to rise to little duns and march browns present on the surface.
I forgot to write earlier – storks came back and are now allover the place, repairing nests and eating all that looks crunchy. This one pictured here was kind of strange as I met him on the side of the road in dense forest – you usually see these birds on fields and open space… Was that an Easter hangover??
Water level has risen becoming too high to fish with pleasure. Grayling start gathering in usual spawning places – we’ve been watching some big fish yesterday.
Preparing ourselves to the new season includes some changes in the lodge as well as launching our own meat processing factory ![]()
Since 2010 we will be serving only home made sausages, hams and bacons prepared and smoked in the lodge, basing on my grandfather’s recipes. We are fulfilling our policy of serving only natural and first quality food.
Didn’t wake the fish up really. Water temperature is still between 4-5 degrees.
