Huchen and Mordownia

With Nigel – a fishing guide from Alaska we have been exploring the San in research of big brown trout. But we were defeated – the cold and high water kept the trout stuck to the bottom. Grayling that are towards the end of spawning are taking everything including streamers. Nigel has filmed also the Huchen spawning – you can see his movie here. Anyway – we had a great time and I know already who is going to be my guide when I go to Alaska. Nigel is the first guest I dared to take to the “Mordownia”. You better don’t ask what is that
Water dropped so that the fishing is possible, though its temperature keeps the fish calm. It is beautiful and very worm – spring changes the sad gray colour of the trees into a lovely fresh green.
River is in flood making fishing impossible. Some heavy rain and huge storms run through the region last night.
There is no return now – storks came back last week. River is still high and very cold, but the nature is awake – flowers, trees, grass makes you smile more. Fishing is not too good, however insisting you can get your proper sized trout. Grayling start gathering for their long awaited spawning – I think this is a question of maximum 14 days.
